Sea kayaking and hiking amidst Araucarias and Volcanoes (3 days)

Amidst Araucarias and Volcanes

Description
Itinerary

Requirement

In the middle of the Araucanía region, almost 700 km south of Santiago and 148 km north of Temuco, is where you'll find this beautiful nature stronghold of 60,000 hectares of protected mountains.

It's deep valleys and steep hills covered with araucarias, show the great scars left by the flow of lava from Llaima Volcano (3.125 m)  which rises from the center. Lake Conguillío was formed here some centuries ago by the blockage of the sierra's snow drainage due to the flow of lava. In the depths of the crystalline waters you can still see raised  trunks of flooded trees.

 Captren Lagoon

This park is distinguished by it's abundance of beautiful trees typical to our country: the Araucarias. These majestic trees are between 600 and 1200 years old, sufficient enough to realize the ephemeral of our existence. This paradise was declared a protected area in 1950 and is an excellent place for nature lovers to come into contact with the secrets and attractions of our land.
